What is NAD?

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a small molecule essential for the activity of some enzymes that is found in every one of the body’s cells. NAD+ is needed for the fundamental biological processes that make living possible, from metabolism to DNA health. NAD+, is required for safe and efficient energy transfer to tissues from food.

NAD+ is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes. Among these, NAD+ has two general sets of reactions in the human body:

• Working as a helper molecule for proteins that regulate other cellular functions
• Helping turn nutrients into energy as a key player in metabolism

These processes are crucial in that they help with circadian rhythms and oxidative stress while also maintaining the health of the body’s DNA.

 We don’t have an endless supply of NAD+ and research shows that supplementing may lower the risk of chronic diseases and slow/reverse signs of aging as well as decrease cravings in addiction illness, help with withdrawl symptoms, support the brain and body through anxiety/depression refractory to conventional medication routs, support neurons for brain health/brain fog, ect.

How should I supplement NAD+?

NAD+ can be supplemented a few ways. It can be given as an intramuscular (IM) injection, SQ (subcutaneous) injection, or in an IV. NAD is not able to be supplemented orally.

Which dose or route should I choose?

It really depends on you. People react very differently to NAD+. IV dosages can be larger and infuse over a few hours depending on the dose and how well the patient tolerates it. The IV dosages are 250mg, 500mg, 750mg and 1,000mg and typically take 1-4 hours depending upon patient tolerance. IM injections are recommended at 50-100mg once per week. SQ injections are 25-50mg 3-5x per week.

You can administer IM or SQ injections at home.

What is the cost of NAD+?

This depends on if you can give yourself the injection, how often you want to receive them and how much of a dose you desire. Cost ranges from 50 cents - $1 per mg.

 What size bottle NAD+ come in and how much does it cost?

500mg - $300 (10-20 injections)

1,000mg - $500 (20-40 injections)

How do you recommend my dosing?

This will be individualized on your prescription and situation. Addiction treatment is recommended daily x 4 days then out to twice weekly, then usually monthly for maintenance. PTSD has another protocol over a few weeks. Each treatment is tailored to each individual patient. Typically for SQ dosing as a general antiaging supplement, it is 25mg daily or 50mg three times a week. Doses up to 500mg can be given in the muscle. Doses higher than 500mg are better if done in an IV which we do not offer at this time.

How will I get my NAD+ injections?

After consultation with Catherine, you will get kit mailed to your home with instructions and supplies if home injections is your preference. IV will be scheduled by phone call and can be in office or in home dependin. You can also come into the office for your injections.
